Other items of clothing such as trousers, skirts, PE kit can be purchased from other retailers such as Tesco, Matalan, Asda etc. All items of uniform are required to be smart, modest and safe.  All uniform, including PE equipment, should be labelled with the child’s name and kept in a small draw-string bag.  It should be available during the week and may be taken home for washing at weekends.  IT IS IMPORTANT THAT ALL ITEMS OF CLOTHING ARE EASILY IDENTIFIED SO THAT CLOTHING IS NOT MISLAID.  ALL CLOTHING ETC MUST BE LABELLED.  LOST, UNNAMED PROPERTY WILL BE DISPOSED OF AFTER ONE WEEK, however, some good quality second hand uniform is kept in school - please ask a member of the support staff for assistance.

Rules which every pupil is expected to observe include:

1.      The school uniform must be worn correctly at all times.  If for any reason this is not possible then a letter should be written to the Headteacher.  We believe it is important that girls are helped to appreciate that modesty in dress helps to demonstrate self-respect.  To this effect, skirts should be no shorter than 5 cm (2 inches) above the knee and without side slits.  For health and safety reasons, skirts should not be longer than mid-calf length.

2.      Hair must always be neat and clean.  Exceedingly long or short hair or hair which is artificially highly coloured or stylised will be commented upon and a change requested.  For boys: hair should be no longer than meets the top of the collar and no shorter than a No 2 haircut.  For girls: long hair should be tied back e.g. pony tail, plaits.  Hair decorations are not permitted.

3.      Because of the risk of loss or theft or the risk of injury, no jewellery of any form is allowed.  Exceptions are made in the case of studs and watches.  Studs must be plain without any parts that may catch or cause injury.  They must be worn as a pair with one stud in each ear.  This applies to all children.

4.      No modern technologies such as iPods, consoles, are to be brought to school.  Children who have been granted permission to have a mobile phone must give this to a member of the admin staff at the beginning of the day for safe keeping.
