Year 4 completed a cross curricular link by retelling of the Bible story of Zechariah, Elizabeth, and the birth of John the Baptist. It explains how the angel Gabriel told Zechariah that he and Elizabeth would have a baby who would prepare the way for God.
We also completed an advent reflection based on the theme of preparing for Jesus. We learnt that the purple candles symbolise waiting, repentance, and preparation, while the pink candle represents joy. The central white candle stands for Christ. This links to John the Baptist, highlighting his role in calling people to prepare their hearts for Jesus’ coming.
